Sponsorship

You are invited to become an integral part of a truly original performance piece, written and composed by Reno’s urban youth. The first of its kind in this area, 6:01 AM is a spoken word opera that shares the struggles and triumphs of the modern working class. It is the theatrical personification of hope, determination, and endurance in the face of adversity.

The production will come to life on May 30, 2009 at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts and will include an original score performed by a live orchestra. It is made possible through the collaborative efforts of Spoken Views, Sierra Arts, RainShadow Charter High School, the, the Holland Project, and members of Reno’s hip hop and spoken word community. However, 6:01 AM cannot happen without support from local individuals, organizations, and businesses.

Please take a moment to look over the below sponsorship benefit information. All donations made to the project are tax deductible.

In addition to funding a live performing arts experience, your donation will also help subsidize art programs for at-risk youth in our area. Proceeds from the production will be donated to RainShadow Charter High School and the Holland Project, who will use the funds to provide alternative art and music access for teens.

To support 6:01 AM is to support the future of the performing arts in Reno. The collaborating organizations represented in this project have a reputation for producing unique, progressive art that has enriched the lives of countless members of our community over the years. With your help, we will present a thought-provoking piece that brings together the beauty of the performing arts with the power of social commentary.
